Achievements so far met
- Official Launch at the 2nd Uganda Social Forum in September 2006
- QuAM infrastructure in place;
- A fully established and functioning National Council
- Fully functioning secretariat; hosted by DENIVA
- QuAM Committees in 23 districts QuAM Strategic Plan in place
- Recognition of the QuAM by NGOs development partners and government – the QuAM is recognized in the 2010 NGO Policy and Regulations
- Continuous popularization of QuAM at International National and District levels,
- Continuous establishment of district QuAM committee,
- Intensified mobilization of resources and support from NGO networks,
- Increased compliance with QuAM principles and standards by NGOs,
- So far 16 NGOs have already gone through the process, have been awarded Quality Assurance Certificates and they give testimony on how going through the process has helped to streamline operations within their organizations. More than 30 NGOs are ready to be awarded certificates by end 0f 2012. NGOs that have already received the Quality Assurance certificates include: Plan Uganda and Stromme Foundation – advanced Certificate; Uganda National NGO Forum, Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (DENIVA), National Association of Women Organizations in Uganda (NAWOU), Kalangala District NGO Forum, Anti Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACCU), , UWASNET, HURINET, Uganda Development Services, Communication for Development Foundation Uganda –standard Certificate; and Little sisters of St Francis street children & Orphans organization, Uganda Children's Centre, Action Support for Orphans and Disadvantaged, and In need Home – provisional Certificate.
Progress in Establishing district QuAM Committees
- The QuAM initiative has so far established 23 district QuAM committees and these include: Gulu, Pader, Apac, Katakwi, Kapchorwa, Bushenyi, Masindi, Kabarole, Mbarara, Ntungamo, Jinja, Kalangala, Kayunga, Arua, Moyo, Kamuli, Luwero, Tororo, Nebbi, Palisa, Kisoro, Lira, Kitgum, Amuria, and Kamwenge. There more 17 committees whose orientation is on-going and they will soon be added to the number to make it 40.
